STUDIO RECORDING CERTIFICATE COURSE

September 2025

This immersive four-session, hands-on certificate course, which is conducted over consecutive Saturdays in September, introduces students to the fundamentals of modern audio recording in a professional studio environment. Designed for beginners, the course covers both hardware and software workflows with a focus on Pro Tools, industry-standard recording equipment, and microphone techniques.

Course Overview

Over four compact days (4 hours/day), students will learn how to:

  • Understand signal flow and audio fundamentals
  • Use recording software (Pro Tools) for tracking and editing
  • Identify and place microphones for vocals and instruments
  • Record live instruments and vocals with proper gain staging
  • Engineer a full-band live session in a professional studio setting
