“The American Songster” Dom Flemons performed at Capricorn Sound Studios on Oct. 6, 2022. Flemons — a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, actor, slam poet, music scholar, historian and record collector — won a Grammy Award in the category of Best Traditional Folk Album in 2011 for his record "Genuine Negro Jig." He also was selected for the prestigious 2020 U.S. Artists Fellowship for the Traditional Arts category.
